Victoria opened the call by speaking of a sudden tragedy that interrupted her life while she was writing Living A Charmed Life… the passing of her 16-year old stepson. Her grief is what catapulted her into completing her book because she placed it’s completion in God’s hand. She trusted that what she needed would be delivered when she needed it.

Interestingly enough, her book was released at the pinnacle of the recession… Divine timing, for sure.

Victoria went on to talk about how people focus on what’s not working in their lives… how we focus too much on the affirmations, prayers, and mantras, but she asked, What do you do with the imperfect part? and “How are you wearing the accessories of your life?”

Don’t focus on the flat tire… focus on the 99% of the car that’s perfect!

She also spoke of our need to differentiate between the “facts” and the “truth”. That facts change all the time (i.e. you lost your job… you got a new job), and the truth never changes (i.e. you were always capable of landing a new job).

“You can’t build spiritual muscle without lifting any weight (i.e. life’s challenges/lessons)”

What’s stopping you from doing what you want?

What’s “practical” is what we already know… which means we need to do whatever we think we CAN’T do!

So, the first thing we should do every day is to take care of ME! That’s Meditation and Exercise! Once we do this, our days with flow smoothly and beautifully.

Of course, you may be asking, “Which one do I do first?” And the answer is… whichever one you’re more likely to blow off.

Victoria continued to talk about the little juicy tidbits her book offers in helping us in living a charmed life… one of them was having a Serendipity Log. Now, before you cry, “NOT ANOTHER JOURNAL!”, hang on! Because this concept is a little different.

Yes, you’re probably grateful for the things in your life, and you probably blog about this gratefulness to the world. You may even shout how immensely grateful you are from your rooftop… but a Serendipity Log takes your attitude of gratitude and kicks it up a notch.

In your Serendipity Log you get to make a little note whenever life gives you a sweet little gift (i.e. thinking of someone then they call you, or you needed an answer to a question and the answer appears in a newspaper article).

But of all the things we can do for ourselves to living a charmed life is to take care of our 1,000 LB Gorilla. You know… that really big deal in our lives that we really don’t want to deal with. It could be an addiction, or it could be some form of abuse. Either way, it needs to be dealt with before you can motivate others.

This was a really terrific call that offered lots of USEFUL “tools”….

Here’s to you… LIVING A CHARMED LIFE!

ABOUT VICTORIA MORAN
Victoria Moran is a motivational speaker, certified life coach, holistic health coach, and a best-selling author, including Fat, Broke and Lonely No More, Lit From Within, Fit From Within, Younger By The Day, Shelter for the Spirit and Creating a Charmed Life (in 29 languages and quoted on Celestial Seasonings teas). A tenth anniversary sequel, Living a Charmed Life (HarperOne) was published in 2009.

“I’ve been writing for publication since I was a teenager. I wanted to meet the Beatles so I got a $1 press card from a teen magazine. It worked: I got into my first Beatles’ press conference at fourteen, my second at fifteen, and when I was seventeen, Paul McCartney bought me a drink. That’s when I knew that even though I was just an ordinary girl from Kansas City with a recurrent weight problem and bad skin, I really did live a charmed life.”

Moran’s latest book, Living a Charmed Life, presents fifty action-inspiring essays that show us how to custom craft our very own charmed lives. Covering topics such as living richly, staying close to what makes you come alive, and how to be completely, utterly yourself, Moran emphasizes that this charmed way of being is possible for anyone of any age in any circumstance.

The author draws on her own experience: observing the “charmed” aspects of living from childhood on, exploring the spirituality of daily life as far afield as India and Tibet, and using what she learned to face her own challenges and losses and come out on the other side. If anyone who has ever lived was capable of creating a charmed life, you’re capable. In this fresh, inspiring book, Victoria Moran gives you the tools and techniques to do it now.

She is married, the mother of a young actress, and lives a charmed life in New York City.
