The call with David Gibson was not only uplifting and insightful, but also a lot of fun!
David started his sound career as a recording engineer, and during some of the recordings, he began to see “magic” in what the musicians were playing. His curiosity led him to want a deeper understanding of what was happening, and how he could reproduce those effects.
When he began adding sound curriculum to the recording curriculum, he saw how well-received it was by the musicians. He told us there are four components of using sound…
- Physical healing
- Mental healing (for Alzheimer’s, ADD/ADHD, Parkinson’s, and memory)
- Emotional healing (for stuck emotions)
- Spiritual growth/evolution
He said we intuitively know that everything is vibration, but it can all be broken down to sound. There are basic laws of resonance, and we learned that a strong vibration will overcome and cause a weaker one to resonate at the same frequency. This is true for both negative and positive vibrations. We are impacted by other people, noise, environmental toxins, and the same is true for those good vibes we receive from the Sun and Mother Earth. Of course, universal love is the most powerful vibration there is.
We can choose to transform the negative energy through the old paradigm of warrior-like mentality (e.g. I must “kill” it in order for it to go away), or we can choose to just be and resonate with vibrations like love and compassion which will shift us in profound ways.
While some are reaching to stay in higher vibrations, David said it’s best to choose to be in a purer frequency that is consistent with less distortions or distractions. Dissonance is also not a bad thing. For some, it breaks up any stuck energy, or blocks, so we can continue to move forward. Then again, someone is in the midst of an anxiety attack, or prone to attacks, could be negatively impacted by additional edginess. Just as someone who is depressed will not rise up if they’re listening to warm (relaxing/soothing) tones.
David told us that binaural beats are any rhythm, or sound, that entrains the brain within 30 seconds. And using headphones will synchronize the left and right hemispheres of the brain which is extremely beneficial. As we progress and start adding light, color, or virtual 3D, David said it will be amazing to see what higher states of consciousness we will then be able to obtain. He’s currently working on a virtual reality system that will have the ability to entrain us back to perfection. How exciting!!
We then enjoyed a lovely sample of his Unconditional Love piece, and we were invited to mediate while listening. Afterward, he walked us through a nice mediation where we were encouraged to focus on our physical hearts and show it gratitude for all it does for us (e.g. beating day and night, allowing our blood to nourish our bodies, etc.).
David said whenever we’re in a purer field, we add to the universal field. Based on the law of resonance, others will then be entrained to that frequency of love and light. The strong will train the weak…
Next, we were asked to think of the last time we were in joy, and then try to make that sound that best represented that feeling without laughing (ok… you can laugh).
Play with sound. We can also ask our cells and organs what sounds they make… then make that sound out loud.
